FAQs

What will I get in my produce box?

Our produce boxes contain a variety of vegetables (and some fruit), and are packed daily with the best of what is currently in season. Check out our vegetables to get an idea of what will be growing each month.

What size vegetable box do you think I need?

It depends on how many people are in your family, how many vegetables you eat and how often. Our general guideline is that a small box feeds 1-2 adults for a week; a medium box feeds 2 adults eating a lot of vegetables, or 2 adults and 1 or 2 children eating a moderate amount of vegetables. A large box would feed a family of four or five. Box sizes can always be changed at anytime if you try it and find you’d like more, or less, produce.

What will I get in my grass-fed, pasture raised meat box?

The meat boxes include a combination of beef, pork, chicken and lamb. Items are rotated on a weekly basis so you get a wide variety of cuts and products. If you need a specific item just ask – we can arrange to include it in your box or it can be added on to your order in our online store. Meat is butchered generally into single or two-serving portions, fast frozen immediately, sealed in air tight packaging and stored in -20°C freezer, so it is as fresh as the day it was butchered when you are ready to enjoy it. Check out our meat to get an idea of what types of cuts we have available.

What size meat box do you think I need?

We think that a small meat box will easily feed two adults each week, and that a large box will provide enough food for a family or four or five.

What if I don’t like beets?

We think they’re delicious and you should definitely give them a try, but if you really never want beets (or anything else) delivered, just let us know and we’ll make sure to substitute it with something else you do enjoy.

I make my own juices, and that uses a lot of vegetables. What size box would I need?

Juicing packages are available at certain times of year, just ask Dave We will make sure you get lots of delicious vegetables for all your juicing needs.

What is the “Online Store” ?

Once you have signed up for any size of meat or produce share, we will provide you with an access code to our member’s only online store, where you have the option to shop individually priced items and add them to your order.

Just browse our selection, load up your cart, check out, and we’ll make sure the extra items you’ve asked for are delivered that week along with your usual box order.

Do you deliver to my neighborhood?

Currently we deliver to Toronto, and to most places within York and Durham Regions.  We are constantly expanding, so please just ask Dave to inquire about your specific location.

What if I’m not home when you deliver?

That’s okay. Many of our customers aren’t home when their delivery arrives. We will chat to find a storage solution to make sure your food is fresh for when you get home.

How do I pay?

We accept e-transfer, cash, and cheque. An invoice for each week will be emailed prior to, and payment is expected on, delivery. You can also choose to conveniently pay for multiple deliveries at a time, whatever works best for you. You can change your payment method at anytime, just ask Dave.

What if I want to change the size of my box?

That’s easy! Just let us know and we’ll gladly make it happen.

Why do I have to let you know 2 days in advance if I want to skip a week or change my order?

Your order is picked from the field especially for you, that’s how we make sure you’re getting the freshest produce possible and avoid wasting undelivered food. If you let us know what you need (or don’t need), the day before we head out to pick it for you, we can be sure we’re only taking out of the fields exactly what’s needed that week.
